• To start making Ajwaini Tamatar Bhindi recipe, cut the Bhindi in half. Make sure the bhindi is not wet and is properly dry.

  • Heat the oil in the pot Heavy bottom pot, add Bhindi and stir for few minutes. Cook them over medium heat.

  • Cover and cook until cooked, stirring constantly.

  • Once done, remove from the pot.

  • Heat the oil again in the same heavy bottom pan to make the gravy.

  • Once the oil is hot, add asafoetida seeds and asafoetida powder.

  • After a minute, add tomato puree and required red chilli powder.

  • Let it cook over medium heat until the puree is done. Add sugar and salt to taste and cook for a while.

  • Finally add cashew paste, add salt, pre-cooked bhindi and mix everything well. Let the ajwaini tamatar bhindi cook for another 5 minutes and serve hot.
