Bystanders intervened and the man fled the area of ​​Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West, police said.

The suspect is described as having a thin build, a beard and a moustache, and was wearing a dark blue vest with small Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors logos on it and a light-colored Adidas baseball cap.

Police also said they arrested a 33-year-old Toronto man after someone threw rocks at the windows of a synagogue in the area of ​​Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street West on June 1.

The suspect was charged with damaging religious property and failing to comply with a probation order, police said.
