District officials issue warning after black incident Bear Charges against two people and their dog Squamish estuary.
The school district said in a public release that the incident occurred Thursday afternoon while the two were walking their dogs.
The bear lashed out at the group but no physical contact occurred, so no one was injured.
However, officials are urging people to take precautions if they venture into the area, including traveling in groups and carrying bear spray.
The district is also urging people to consider walking their dogs elsewhere for the time being.
The BC Conservation Officer Service is monitoring the situation and deploying additional signs in the area.
