Police searching for man who took photo of girl at Guelph paddling pool | Globalnews.ca

Guelph police are investigating after two girls were allegedly filmed in a water play area in the west end.

Police say a female witness saw a man sitting on a rock near a splash pad near Dawson Road and Sheldare Crescent on Wednesday afternoon.

A few minutes later, the witness walked over and spoke to two girls who were approximately 13 or 14 years old.

Witnesses then saw the man appearing to be filming them with a small red digital camera.

Investigators said when the man was confronted, he told witnesses he was filming the paddling pool, not the girls, and then fled on foot.

The man is described as being in his 30s, six feet tall, with short black hair. Police said he was carrying a dark backpack, wearing a white tie-dye polka dot T-shirt and a gray and black baseball cap with the word “lubricant” printed on it.
