mission Royal Canadian Mounted Police The company said it responded to two serious multi-vehicle crashes caused by drunk driving in just 18 minutes on Sunday evening.
The first crash on Lougheed Highway west of Oliver Street sent five people to hospital. Police said all of them are expected to survive.
Police said a white Subaru traveling east hit a large puddle and scraped a travel trailer before striking a westbound SUV.
Mission RCMP took the 26-year-old Subaru driver to the detachment, where his breath sample was found to be above the legal limit.
While RCMP were still at the scene of the accident, a single-vehicle rollover was reported on Stave Lake Street in the Frog Hill area.
The driver (who also showed signs of impairment) remained trapped in the vehicle as Mission Fire and Rescue helped extract him and transported him to a hospital for treatment.

According to police, the 47-year-old driver was found to have multiple empty alcohol bottles in the vehicle.
The driver involved in the first collision has been banned from driving and drink-driving investigations are ongoing for both drivers.
Mission RCMP stressed this crash is a prime example of the dangers of drunk driving and warned that a drunk driver's reduced reaction time can lead to devastating crashes.
