For Saskatoons looking to escape the heat outdoors, summer is just around the corner. Over the next two weeks, four outdoor pools in Saskatoon will be open.
Your favourite swimming pool's opening times are as follows:
- Riversdale Pool: Wednesday, June 5
- Lathey Pool: Friday, June 7
- Mayfair Pool: Wednesday 12 June
- George Ward Pool: Tuesday, June 18

General admission includes public, lane and family swim times, parent splash time and aquatic fitness classes.
Children under 6 years old are admitted free to the outdoor pool when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Admission schedules can be found on the Saskatoon Recreation website.
In July and August, swimming lessons are offered in the outdoor pool.
“Please note that outdoor pools will be immediately cleared if lightning occurs and will be closed if temperatures drop to 14 degrees or below, or if rainfall continues,” the City of Saskatoon said in a news release.
