Woman in serious condition after being pinned under car in Montreal parking lot - Montreal | Globalnews.ca

Montreal police say an elderly woman was rushed to hospital after she was pinned by a car in the city's Saint-Laurent borough on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene on Avenue de la Côte-Vertu near Beaulac Street around 1 p.m.

According to witness statements to police, the woman was walking in a shopping mall parking lot when she was hit by a driver pulling out of a parking space.

“When officers arrived at the scene, the 72-year-old woman was trapped under the vehicle,” police said. “Officers were able to extract her from under the vehicle.”

The woman suffered serious injuries to her upper body.

Police said she was conscious when she was taken to the hospital and they were awaiting an update on her condition.

The driver of the car, a 66-year-old man, was not injured. No other details were provided.
