A moose that escaped southwest of Calgary was safely removed from the area by wildlife officers on Monday.
Officers with Alberta Fish and Wildlife and members of the Calgary police were monitoring moose in some green spaces in the Southwood community, which is southwest of Sacramento Avenue near the Southland light rail station.
Doctors sedated the animal, loaded it into a truck and took it to the bush before releasing it.
Wildlife officials told Global News the moose was about two years old and was removed for their safety.
Officers added that they are aware of nine moose currently living in the city.
