this Vancouver Outlaws Finish Edmonton Stingers Tuesday's game was perfect, outscoring the hosts 26-19 in the final quarter to win 93-90 Canadian Elite Basketball League victory.
Nick Ward and Kobe McEwen each scored 21 points for the Bandits, who are tied with the Stingers for first place in the five-team Western Conference with both teams at 4-1. Ward also grabbed 10 rebounds.
James Carmik had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Bandits, who trailed 51-48 at halftime and 71-67 entering the final quarter.
Davion Warren led the Stingers with 23 points, while Ben Krikke added 15 points and Elijah Miller added 13 points.
“Anybody can beat anybody on a given day,” Ward said when asked about facing undefeated Edmonton.

“We fought back tonight.”
However, Vancouver had a strong performance on the night, with Tazé Moore contributing 14 points and eight assists.
The 2020 and 2021 CEBL champions, the Stingers, lost two of three regular-season games to the Bandits last year.
“Win or lose, we stay calm,” Stingers head coach Jordan Baker said. “We’re still the same group of guys … We stick together and make sure we make the right play next time.”
The Bandits play their home games at the Langley Events Centre, 50 kilometres east of Vancouver, and are 3-0 at home and 1-1 on the road this season.
Out of bounds
- Three CEBL games are scheduled for Wednesday. The Brampton Honey Badgers (2-2) host the Winnipeg Sea Bears (2-1), the Ottawa Blackjacks (0-3) travel to the Montreal Union (1-3), and the Calgary Tide (0-3) host the Saskatchewan Rattlers (3-1).
- The Stingers opened the 2021 season with a 7-0 record. Prior to Tuesday night's game, they ranked fourth in the league in offense (91.3 points per game) and second in defense (79.3 points per game).
- Attendance at the Edmonton Expo Centre announced Tuesday was 2,147.
