The fisheries department said on social media that police intercepted the consignment “based on intelligence gathered” and arrested two people.

The department claims the young eels, known as fry, are being shipped to Toronto and then overseas.
Ottawa closed the lucrative eel fry fishery on March 11 after fishing seasons in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were plagued by incidents of violence and intimidation last year.
Last month, federal officials seized 109 kilograms of baby eels at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which were also said to be headed overseas.
Officials said the eels seized in May were estimated to be worth between $400,000 and $500,000.
