The driver remained in hospital in critical condition Friday morning A car on Highway 1 was hit by an object and its windshield was shattered on Thursday.The British Columbia Highway Patrol said the object is believed to be a large rock.

At approximately 11:24 a.m. on June 6, the British Columbia Highway Patrol received a call stating that Wellington Exit A white sedan was found with its windshield smashed.

The driver was rushed to hospital.

It is still unclear where the rock came from.

The BC Highway Patrol is investigating and is asking witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact the BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby Division at 604-526-9744.
