One week military training The exercise will begin later this week in Northumberland, Hastings and Prince Edward counties in central Ontario.
Ministry of National Defense and Canadian Armed Forces Members of the Canadian Special Forces Command will conduct training in various counties from June 12 to June 18.

The training will specifically target the communities of Campbellford, Quinte West, Stirling, Tweed, Picton and Bellville.
Officials said residents may notice an “increase” in the number of military vehicles and aircraft, as well as uniformed and non-uniformed military personnel carrying firearms. Noises associated with explosives and small firearms may also be heard during training exercises – the result of “simulated and blank rounds and explosives.”
“Conducting military exercises in both urban and rural environments that are unfamiliar to our personnel enhances our professional skills and enables us to serve the national interest anywhere,” the military said.
“Canadian Special Operations Forces Command is extremely grateful for the support of local landowners and the understanding of the communities where valuable training takes place.”
