Toronto police say they are investigating a suspect Hate Crime and arrested a suspect in another case that occurred in recent weeks.
They claim that on May 12, a man shouted anti-Muslim slurs on the subway before attacking the victim, who was travelling with friends.
Bystanders intervened and the man fled the area of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West, police said.
The suspect is described as having a thin build, a beard and a moustache, and was wearing a dark blue vest with small Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors logos on it and a light-colored Adidas baseball cap.
Police also said they arrested a 33-year-old Toronto man after someone threw rocks at the windows of a synagogue in the area of Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street West on June 1.
The suspect was charged with damaging religious property and failing to comply with a probation order, police said.
