Toronto man arrested in south London, Ontario bank robbery - London | Globalnews.ca

A Toronto man is facing multiple charges following a bank robbery in South London.

London police said a man walked into a bank on Wellington Road around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday and handed a bank teller a note demanding money.

Police said the suspect was provided with cash by the bank and as he was leaving the bank, he threatened another customer. No injuries were reported.

After receiving the suspect's description, the police found the suspect not far from the scene and arrested him after a short search. All the stolen cash was recovered.

A 38-year-old Toronto man has been charged with two counts of robbery with violence or threat, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, carrying a concealed weapon and committing a mischief in a public place to divert suspicion.

The man is expected to face the charges in a London court on Wednesday.
