A Toronto man is facing multiple charges after robbing a bank in south London.

London police said a man walked into a bank on Wellington Road around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday and handed a bank teller a note demanding money.

Police said the bank provided the suspect with cash and he threatened another customer as he left the bank. No injuries were reported.

After receiving the suspect’s description, police found the suspect not far from the crime scene and after a brief search, arrested him and all the stolen cash was recovered.

A 38-year-old Toronto man has been charged with two counts of robbery with violence or threat, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, carrying a concealed weapon and intentionally destroying property in a public place to divert suspicion.

The man is expected to face the charges in a London court on Wednesday.
