A man and a woman were charged Sexual Transaction The investigation is ongoing and Toronto police are concerned there may be additional victims.

On Saturday, police announced that a 51-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident, which occurred in 2013, although the investigation only began last August.

Police believe a woman was trafficked “through deception, coercion and control”. Police say the money she earned was given to the suspect, who kept most of it. Police say the suspect created online ads for the woman, provided her with drugs and took her to meet clients. Police say the suspect also used an apartment near Victoria Park and Danforth Avenue “to conduct human trafficking”.

The suspect was arrested in Toronto on Wednesday. The man faces nine charges, including forcible confinement, material benefit for sexual services and human trafficking.

The woman faces 18 charges including forcible confinement, verbal threats, sexual assault and obtaining material benefit through sexual services.

Investigators are “concerned there may be additional victims” and have released Suspect photo on the Toronto Police Service's website.
