Two 13-year-old boys face charges Stolen Vehicles The vehicle was driving in Peterborough, Ont., on Sunday evening.

Peterborough Police At about 10.30pm, a vehicle was reported driving on the football field and beach at Beavermead Park in the city's west.

Police said two people were seen fleeing the car after a caller reported a car leaving a parking lot near Braidwood Avenue and Jane Street and crashing into a fence and a concrete wall near Morrow Street and Morphet Avenue.

A short time later, officers spotted the two suspects walking. Police also determined the vehicle involved was allegedly stolen from Kingston and was also wanted in connection with a traffic complaint north of Oshawa early Sunday evening.

In the Peterborough incident, an Oshawa boy and a Kingston girl, both 13, were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The girl was released and will appear in court in Peterborough on July 15.

The boy was also charged with two counts of careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and one count of operating a motor vehicle without a licence and failing to comply with a sentence. He is currently in custody and will appear in court in Peterborough on Monday.

The children charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act cannot be identified.
