An investigation is underway into a motorcycle left overnight collision The city police said the incident left a 35-year-old man dead.

In a press release, Edmonton Police Service Police were allegedly called to the scene in the McCauley neighborhood just after midnight on Sunday.

Police said the man, who has not been publicly identified, allegedly struck a concrete barrier on the southeast side of Stadium Road NW and was ejected from the motorcycle.

He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police said officers from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the accident and believe speed was a significant factor.
