Media mogul Simon Cowell Hope to copy one direction By holding auditions for the next hot boy band.

“Every generation deserves a superstar boy band, but I don't think any has had the success that One Direction has over the past 14 years. This industry tends to focus on individual artists – so it usually takes an outsider to form a group,” Cowell wrote in a statement announcing the launch of his boy band project. “There's nothing more fun than being in a group, touring around the world, and performing for thousands of people.”
Auditions will take place this summer in various locations: Newcastle on July 4 and 5, Liverpool on July 7 and 8, Dublin on July 28 and 29, and London on August 1, 2 and 3. A camera crew will also follow Cowell as he searches for the superstar for a “potential documentary series”.

As a promotion for future pop stars, Cowell jokingly predicted that boy bands would eventually break up, just like One Direction. Cowell said joining his band would be a “great launching pad for a solo career”, an apparent nod to former One Direction member Harry Styles.
