Environment Canada says thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the afternoon and continue into the evening as a cold front moves into the region.
The agency noted that the region could see wind gusts of up to 100 km/h, heavy rain and nickel-sized hail.
Strong gusts could dislodge loose objects, damage fragile structures, break tree branches and overturn large vehicles, the report noted.
The warning also said heavy rains could cause flash flooding and waterlogging on roads.
Environment Canada says you should be prepared to take action if severe weather is approaching.
“Every year, Canadians are killed or injured by lightning. Remember, when thunder roars, stay indoors!”
