member Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is investigating the early morning stabbing.

Friday morning, police said they were dispatched to the 200 block of South K Avenue at 2:40 a.m. for a report of an injured person.

“Upon arrival, officers located the 36-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening,” police said. “Paramedics transported him to hospital for further treatment.”

Police learned that the victim was walking near West 20th Street and South Avenue K when he was approached by several men on bicycles. That’s when the victim was stabbed, police said. They added that the suspects and the victim are not believed to know each other.

Members of the SPS Aggravated Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
