Saskatoon police confirm investigation into new assault allegations involving Legacy Christian Academy | Globalnews.ca

Saskatoon police and the Saskatchewan government have confirmed they are investigating new allegations of assault at a private school involved in a $25 million abuse lawsuit.

Heritage Christian College is under fire from former students who accuse faculty and staff of physically and sexually abusing students prior to 2005. One former faculty member has been sentenced for sexual assault, and three others are currently in court facing various criminal charges.

The school is in a $25 million lawsuit against the Mile Two Church, which operates the school. Most of the defendants are former faculty and board members of the church.

Saskatoon police and the Ministry of Education are now investigating additional allegations following reports that a staff member and a young student were assaulted.

Police told Global News they received the report on Saturday but would not provide any further details.
