Saskatchewan is about to start Pride Month There’s a lot in store for Saskatoon and Regina residents during the month of June.

“We’ve created more human rights-related pieces for Pride than we’ve done in the past,” said Blake Tait of Saskatoon Pride.

Saskatoon Pride Festival He said there will be a variety of events in June, from a drag show to a human rights forum.

Key activities include:

  • Saskatoon to hold first ever Rainbow Run on June 9
  • Naomi from RuPaul's Drag Race will attend the opening of the Pride Parade on June 14
  • Cher: Dancing Queen Tribute Night June 15
  • Flag-raising and opening ceremony on June 17
  • June 22 Park Parade and Pride Parade

“The Pride Run is a new event for us, so I’m really, really excited,” Tait told Global News.

“It’s so important to have this kind of positivity this year because it shows queer youth, trans youth, and non-binary youth that things are indeed getting better and that there is such a huge community and allies out there supporting them.”

In Regina, Queen City Pride There is also a long list of things going on, including:

  • Queen City Pride June 7-16
  • The City of Regina raised the flag on June 7
  • The 2024 Queen City Pride Ball will be held on June 7
  • June 9 Pride Tea Party
  • June 12 Pride Film Festival

Riviera Bonneau, which is participating in Queen City Pride, said this year there will be more than 55 vendors, a main stage and beer garden hosted by Rebellion Brewing.

“It’s so important that we can celebrate this safe event publicly with all the people who love us,” Bono said.
