Rescuers analyze aerial video for clues to missing BC hiker - BC | Globalnews.ca

Rescue teams in Squamish, British Columbia, said that while they have temporarily halted the physical search, they have not completely stopped their search for three missing climbers who were last seen on May 31.

A Facebook post by Squamish Search and Rescue said crews had “changed tactics based on the dangerous terrain and current conditions.”

They said search teams had been analyzing video footage from aerial searches by planes and drones in hopes of finding the missing climbers, in a search area where terrain was still changing and treacherous as temperatures “shifted from cool to hot.”

Search and rescue efforts were suspended on Thursday due to “significant challenges” posed by unstable weather conditions on Mount Garibaldi, where the three climbers were last seen.

Police said the missing person's name has not been released and the climber's family “requests privacy during this difficult time.”
