A day earlier, a person went missing from a lake in Strathmore, Alberta, and police said a search was underway.
RCMP say officers responded to Kinsman Lake at 7:10 p.m. Thursday after someone reported seeing “a man struggling in the lake and then disappearing beneath the surface.”
“Bystander attempts to render assistance were unsuccessful,” police said in a news release Friday.

RCMP and firefighters, with the help of divers, attempted to locate the missing persons but were unsuccessful “due to light and visibility issues.”
Police asked people to avoid the area while recovery efforts continued.
Strathmore is approximately 50 kilometres east of Calgary.
