Police are searching for a missing woman whose vehicle crashed into a tree near a Manitoba community.

Officers with the Whitemouth RCMP detachment said they received a report of 29-year-old Brittany Dawn Storey missing on June 6 at approximately 4:10 p.m.

Police said Storey, who is from Winnipeg, was chatting with friends in the Lunnie, Manitoba area when she said her car had crashed into a tree. The call was then disconnected and police said no one has been able to reach her on her cellphone since then.

Police patrolled the area between Rooney and Winnipeg but said they did not find her or her vehicle — a white 2016 Dodge Journey with Manitoba license plate LFR 884. Officials said Storey did not show up for work, return to her residence in the city and was not active on social media.
