QEW reopens after dump truck carrying trash hits overpass | Globalnews.ca

this Quantum Electronic Warfare Ontario Provincial Police say a dump truck crashed into a pedestrian bridge under construction, which was reopened to traffic in both directions on Tuesday.

The highway was closed between Cawthra Road and Dixie Road and was reopened to traffic around noon, Ontario Provincial Police said.

The collision occurred around 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday. Police initially said they expected the freeway closure to last until at least 2 p.m., but the freeway was reopened two hours ago.

Police told Global News the dump truck had already been lifted off the ground when it struck a pedestrian bridge that was under construction.

No injuries were reported.
