A lucky lottery ticket topped up a Southern Inland couple's bank account.

On Wednesday, the BC Lottery announced that Albert Wilton of Princeton had won an additional $500,000 prize. Lotto 6-49 The draw will take place on June 1st.

According to BCLC, Wilton decided to play down the news with his wife as a joke after checking his lottery ticket.

“We were at home, getting ready for bed,” Albert said, recalling the moment he shared the news with Rowland. “I called her over and told her we had won $100!”

After the confession, the couple told their son the news, and Roland said, “They didn't believe us.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Petro-Canada gas station on Bridge Street and validated at the Chevron gas station on Highway 3A in Princeton.

The couple said they have not yet planned how to spend the prize money but plan to continue their shared hobbies such as going to the movies and fishing.
