Portage la Prairie traffic stop leads to multiple tickets, cocaine arrest: RCMP - Winnipeg | Globalnews.ca

A traffic stop occurred in Portage la Prairie on Monday night and the occupants of the vehicle were ticketed and fined.

Manitoba RCMP stopped an unregistered vehicle at the corner of Sixth Avenue Northwest and Fisher Avenue around 8:40 p.m.

After a quick search, police discovered the driver was a 24-year-old female without a valid driver's license and found unsealed alcohol, 1.2 grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

The man in the passenger seat (28) was found to have breached a release order prohibiting him from having any contact with the woman.

He was detained and charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a release order, while the driver was released after receiving four Highway Traffic Act tickets.
