Penticton RCMP seeks witness in 93-year-old woman assault - Okanagan | Globalnews.ca

RCMP are seeking help identifying witnesses to the June 5 attack on a 93-year-old woman.

At around 11 a.m., Penticton RCMP said they were called to an incident near Main Street and Calgary Avenue where the woman was reportedly pushed into the path of a bus that was leaving a bus stop.

The suspect, a woman covered in a white blanket, was not apprehended by witnesses until police arrived.

“Given the age and medical condition of this elderly woman, this was a very concerning incident that could have resulted in fatal consequences,” Officer Kelly Brett said in the release.

“We are thankful that the bus driver realised something was happening and stopped the bus before anything serious happened.”

The victim suffered minor injuries and is currently resting at home.

Penticton RCMP thanked the witnesses who came to the victim's aid, but they want to speak with the witness or anyone else who may have witnessed the incident to get more information.
