Pedestrian seriously injured while crossing Parkland County highway, fleeing - Edmonton | Globalnews.ca

RCMP are searching for the driver of a grey truck involved in a hit-and-run early Monday that seriously injured a pedestrian.

The incident happened around 12:20 a.m. on Highway 16 near Mountain Road 35 in Parkland County.

RCMP say a grey van travelling east on the highway struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

“The vehicle did not stop and continued eastbound without checking for the person struck,” RCMP said in a news release.

The victim was taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance with serious injuries.

RCMP have identified the suspect vehicle as a 2012 to 2014 grey Chevrolet Orlando with damage to the front driver's side.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating the vehicle and suspect.
