A suspect has been arrested Drunk driving accidents.
According to police, the accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Friday when a white Mercedes SUV collided with a grey Mazda travelling east on Alberni Street in downtown Vancouver.
The Mercedes then reportedly accelerated onto the south curb of Alberni Avenue, narrowly missing several pedestrians.
The suspected driver then struck a bike rack, a street sign and hit a tree, destroying it, according to police.

The Mercedes then hit three other cars before coming to rest on the sidewalk with a tree pinning it.
Global News shared a video showing the aftermath of the accident.
Police said witnesses saw the suspect exit the Mercedes and flee east on Alberni Street.
Vancouver police said officers located and arrested a suspect.
The Vancouver Police Department is recommending that multiple people be charged with dangerous driving and driving under the influence.
