Local police and RCMP arrest 21 men in two-day Brandon prostitution raid - Winnipeg | Globalnews.ca

A two-day operation involving multiple police agencies arrested 21 men in Brandon on suspicion of soliciting prostitution.

The crackdown on prostitution, called “Project Lockdown,” is a joint operation between Brandon police, Winnipeg police and the Manitoba RCMP, targeting the downtown core of the Wheat City and local hotels.

Police said that in addition to street investigations, they were also investigating online sexual exploitation.

Police said the suspects were arrested for obtaining sexual services or communicating for the purpose of doing so. Police also seized nine vehicles during the operation, seizing vehicles under the Highway Traffic Act in connection with prostitution.
