The game was also Hamilton's 18th loss in 19 games at McMahon Stadium.

Tim White blew what would have been a touchdown in the second quarter, and fellow receiver Shemar Bridges mishandled a long pass that gave the Wildcats a chance to get into the end zone.

Rookie receiver Bridges led the Ticats with seven catches for 85 yards.

Running back James Butler was Hamilton's best player, rushing for 119 yards on 13 carries. Ante Milanovich-Little scored Hamilton's first touchdown of the season with a one-yard run just 16 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Defensively, the Wildcats held Calgary quarterback Jack Maier to 21 completions of 26 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

With the win, Calgary broke the deadlock with Edmonton and became the first team in Canadian Football League history to reach 700 wins.

Hamilton's next game is the home opener on June 16 against the Saskatchewan Rangers.
