She first made headlines in 2015 when her three children died in a car accident in Vaughan, Ontario caused by Marco Muzzo, a drunk driver.

Nine-year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, his five-year-old brother Harrison, two-year-old sister Millie, and the children's 65-year-old grandfather Gary Neville died in the collision.

The child's grandmother and great-grandmother were also seriously injured.

Muzzo pleaded guilty and served time in prison before being granted full parole in February 2021.
