this Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers are preparing to face off in the Stanley Cup Final, with the series set to begin Saturday in Sunshine City, Florida.

The Oilers are looking to bring the trophy back to Edmonton for the first time since 1990, while the Panthers are looking to win their first Stanley Cup.

The Oilers last reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2006, but lost to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Last year, the Panthers made it all the way to the Cup Final but lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.

A Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup since 1993.

Oilers general manager Ken Holland and head coach Chris Knoblauch, along with Panthers general manager Bill Zito and head coach Paul Maurice, will hold a news conference in Florida at 11:15 a.m. Friday. Global News will report further on this story. Youtube.
