Edmonton man charged with 62 offences, faces new charges - Edmonton | Globalnews.ca

Edmonton police announced Friday new charges against an Edmonton man who was wanted 62 times for numerous burglaries and thefts.

Mark Muise, 40, of Edmonton, faces dozens of charges, including theft under $5,000, theft over $5,000, possession of burglary tools, theft of credit cards and failure to comply with release and probation orders.

this Edmonton Police Service Muise is accused of committing multiple burglaries at sporting goods stores in Edmonton, St. Albert, Strathcona County and Kitscottie, Alberta.

“During the time these thefts were committed, the suspect was also subject to a firearms prohibition order and probation order issued by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and a release order issued by the RCMP,” police said in a news release on Friday.

EPS said its Targeted Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) team identified Muise through security footage related to the thefts.

Officers discovered he was wanted on 62 outstanding criminal warrants, 35 of which were within the Edmonton metropolitan area and 27 within the RCMP's jurisdiction.

Police said they arrested Muise at a home near 110 Street and 111 Avenue in northwest Edmonton.

Muise is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday.
