Durham police: 1 dead, 3 injured in crash when driver tried to make U-turn | Globalnews.ca

One person has died and three others were injured in a crash in Pickering when a driver attempted a U-turn, police said.

Durham Regional Police said in a news release Wednesday that officers responded to the scene on Taunton Road near William Jackson Boulevard around 12:40 p.m. on May 29 after two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes.

“A grey Honda CRV was travelling east on Taunton Road when it attempted to make a U-turn and head west on Taunton Road,” police said.

“While attempting to turn, the vehicle collided with an eastbound silver Mercedes Benz approaching from behind.”

The driver and three passengers in the Honda were injured and taken to hospital.

A 97-year-old passenger in the Honda died on Tuesday.

Police said the driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
