Four people were arrested during a pro-Palestinian demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Toronto on Saturday afternoon, according to Toronto police.

According to police, people were arrested while marching near University Avenue and Armory Street just after 5 p.m.

Several people were said to be holding a flag, while another protester was painting on the road below the flag.

When officers tried to arrest the woman, other protesters tried to intervene and one of the law enforcement officers was assaulted, police said.

A 28-year-old woman from Toronto faces charges of obstructing a peace officer and assaulting a peace officer.

A 52-year-old woman from Toronto faces a charge of malicious damage/damage to property over $5,000, while a 35-year-old man from Niagara and a 31-year-old man from Brampton were charged with obstructing a peace officer.
