One person was killed and four others were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Norfolk County Thursday evening, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Norfolk County OPP said two vehicles collided at the intersection of Windham East Quarter Road and Windham Road 9 near Windham Center around 7 p.m.
The collision caused a passenger to be ejected from one of the vehicles, according to police.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two Ornge helicopters flew four others to Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, the report said.
The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated the cause of the accident.
“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by this tragic incident,” police said in a news release.
