One person was killed and four people were injured in a shooting in northwest Toronto on Sunday evening, police said.

Toronto police said emergency crews were called to the area of ​​Kipling Avenue and Mount Olive Road, just north of Finch Avenue West, at 10:53 p.m. on reports of a shooting.

Five people were found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital.

Police initially said one of the victims, a man in his 50s, had life-threatening injuries, while the other victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Toronto paramedics told Global News they took five adults to hospital, two in critical condition and three in serious condition.
