There’s almost no one I know who doesn’t like nachos. Corn flakes are one of those cereals that appeals to all ages, from children to adults, except for those who may be allergic to it. The same is the case with this nacho Chivda. It's very addictive. So, I would say, whenever you are prepping, make a big batch because it can be done in a few hours!

Chivda is basically a Maharashtrian term for a fried savory mixture consisting of various ingredients including spices and dry fruits. This recipe shows the easiest way to make Makai Chivda.

Something similar, but without nachos and in a South Indian style, is this mixture recipe. You can’t miss trying this either.My personal favorites for these snacks include the following recipes Poha Chivda, Carla Bwindi Mixture and panchcadia.

For this nacho chivda, I used basic dry yellow corn flakes also known as corn poha or makai poha. They are fried to make this chivda. You can easily buy it from any Indian grocery store or order online.

The corn flakes used to make Makai Chivda are not ready-to-eat corn flakes. However, you can prepare this chivda even in ready-to-eat form. In this case, you have to lightly toast the tortilla chips with a little oil. Dried fruits can also be roasted with some oil or even dry roasted.

The best way to enjoy this chivda, made from corn flakes, is as a simple snack. But it also tastes great when paired with some chai.

There are different varieties of tortilla chips available in the market today. In my opinion, the best is traditional and original. However, seasoned nachos can also be enjoyed once in a while. After opening the package, be sure to seal it in an airtight box. Otherwise, it may become soggy by losing its crispness.
