Divide dough into lemon-sized pieces one inch in diameter. Dust the dough portion with flour and roll into a round. Don't roll it too thickly as the filling will push out on its own and tear when steaming.
Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of the rolled circle. Bring one side of the dough together using a pinching and folding motion and secure the other side to the pinched side. By doing this, the half-moon shaped buns will have a frilly appearance. Do something similar with the remaining dough.
You can try different shapes and sizes that you like. All it takes is some time and practice.
Heat the pan, pour in the oil, then carefully add these buns, add a ladle of water or vegetable stock, cover immediately and cook the buns for 10 minutes.
When done, add the soy sauce and chili sauce and stir the buns until evenly coated.
