• To start making Ambat Goda Dal, we will soak the dal in water for about 30 minutes. After soaking, boil the dal with water, salt and turmeric powder and then pressure cook for about 4 blasts until it is completely cooked.

  • Once done, set it aside to release the pressure on its own. Meanwhile, you can heat the kadai with oil and get it ready.

  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds. Once done add curry leaves and let it crackle.

  • Add a pinch of oh hing and chopped green chilies and fry for about 10 seconds until soft.

  • Add the cooked dal along with the tamarind water and bring to a simmer. At this point you can add goda masala and salt.

  • Cook for another 10 minutes until desired consistency is obtained. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

  • Place Ambat Goda Dal on top with steamed rice and a dollop of ghee and serve with Kadai Vegetable Sabzi Recipe along one side and one Homemade kimchi Serve with it for a cozy meal.
