To start making the Chicken Manchurian recipe, crack an egg in a mixing bowl, add cornmeal, soy sauce, a pinch of salt and mix all the ingredients well.
Add the chicken pieces and stir until all pieces are coated with the marinade mixture.
Marinate the Manchurian chicken pieces in the egg mixture for 1 hour.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and heat 1 tablespoon oil.
Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium, add the marinated chicken pieces and fry until golden brown.
When the chicken is cooked, skim off any excess water and place it on a napkin.
Add cornmeal, soy sauce, red pepper garlic sauce, tomato puree, chili vinegar and water to a mixing bowl and mix well. The sauce for Manchurian chicken gravy is ready.
Now, heat a wok with a tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and ginger and sauté until soft.
Add the chopped green onions and sauté for a few seconds.
Add onions and green peppers and sauté until onions turn translucent.
Add green chillies and fry until a bit soft and adds a spicy flavor to the dish.
Add the chicken manchurian mixture to the pan and cook until the manchurian gravy thickens.
Now add the chicken pieces and mix well until the chicken pieces are well coated with the manchurian gravy.
Cook over low heat for a further 5-7 minutes, stirring to help keep the top layer moist. Check for salt and seasoning. Make adjustments if necessary.
Turn off the heat, sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve hot.
